How to read the figures.
Portfolio performance is presented as cumulative time-weighted return, which is intended to remove the effect of deposits and withdrawals. The benchmark is the FTSE All-Share Total Return Index. The chart uses the dated checkpoints published in portfolio updates.
For the 27 August 2026 snapshot, the £4,000 ISA withdrawal is treated as an external cash flow rather than an investment loss. It reduces the portfolio value but does not distort the time-weighted percentage return. The £27,178.36 total return comprises £21,920.92 of realised gains, £5,196.19 of unrealised gains and £61.25 of dividend income.
The figures are drawn from my personal records and have not been independently audited. Portfolio values, prices and holdings are dated snapshots rather than real-time data, and positions may change between updates.
The record began on 13 May 2025, so it covers a short period. Concentration can amplify both gains and losses, and the results should not be regarded as typical.
Another investor’s outcome would differ because of dealing prices, bid-offer spreads, fees, tax, timing and portfolio construction.
